Monarch Madness

Today we went out to a local Butterfly House where they were having an event open to the public: Monarch Madness. A couple of our friends met us out there. The kids got to tag and release Monarch butterflies. Poor Alex kept getting butterflies that immediately flew out of his hands. He just about cried the first time, but pulled himself together, then one of the friends shared his butterfly. Thanks, Nathan!

I worried that Ryan would get scared and not hold a butterfly. He’s usually really skittish of these kinds of things, but as you can tell by the pictures, he loved every second of having the butterfly in his hands!

And what would Monarch Madness be without human Monarchs?
