Giving Thanks

I don’t really have time for an in-depth post today. Since my time has been usurped by preparing for the upcoming Thanksgiving feast (to be held in my small home) I thought that I would post a handful of verses about thankfulness. After all, who other than a Christian, has more reason to give thanks? And who, other than the Creator of the universe who humbled Himself to die for us, deserves our thanks?

I will thank You in the great congregation; in the mighty throng I will praise you.

Psalm 35:18

Let them thank the LORD for his steadfast love, for his wondrous works to the children of man!

Psalm 107:8

This is so emphasized in this psalm that it is repeated four times!

I thank him who has given me strength, Christ Jesus our Lord, because he judged me faithful, appointing me to his service, though formerly I was a blasphemer, persecutor, and insolent opponent. But I received mercy because I had acted ignorantly in unbelief, and the grace of our Lord overflowed for me with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus.

1 Timothy 1:12-14

This is Paul talking, but I’m very much identifying with him right now! What wondrous grace that has overflowed for me and continues to work abundantly in my life! This gracious God certainly deserves all our thanks and praise!
